In the Indian state of Tamil Nadu there is a serene seashore village by the name of Kattumavadi. This tranquil village is one of the district borders of Pudukkotai & Thanjaur district. It is situated  in the border of Palk Bay.  This village houses several fish marketing and general stores and serves as the centre for selling and buying fishes. Being located at the junction of the three main district routes, Pudukottai, Thanjaur & Ramanathapuram Kattumavadi provides recreation to all the people travelling to these places. Majority of the people in this region are fishermen though some are agriculturist too.

Sri Azhiya Mozhi Amman Temple: The villagers celebrate their festival in Sri Azhiya Mozhi Amman Temple during the Thai month.

Point Calimere: Located at the southern part of Nagapattinam is a wildlife sanctuary that houses a wide range of rare animals and birds and is a place to be visited by the people. The lush green gardens and the serene environment make the place all the more endearing.

Thirunallar: This temple dedicated to Lord Sani is often visited by tourists mainly due to its calm environment. This temple has flocks of people visiting it to offer prayers to Lord Shani in the hope that their mishaps and misfortunes are warded off.

Nagore Dargah: This Dargah dedicated to Prophet Mohammed is adorned by glimmering gold domes and five minarets and is almost 500 years old Dargah. Every year a 14 day festival is held here in honour of the Prophet.

Sikkil: This place should not be missed out by people visiting Kattumavadi. There are beautiful paintings and inscriptions of the Chola and Vijaynagar period adorning the walls of the Shiva temple of this place. .

Being well connected to other places in Tamil Nadu, Kattumavadi is convenient to reach. One can avail the buses and local trains from Ramanatha Puram (100km), Pattukkottai(19km), Chennai (400km)or Trichy(113km)
