The Latur region is known as the “Sugar Belt of India”. Eleven large sugar factories are there in latur region. The biggest sugar plant in the region is the Manjara Sugar Factory

Ganj Golai: ‘Ganjgolai Chowk’ is the famous place for shopping here especially for the ladies.There are separate markets where traditional local wares such as gold ornaments to footwear and food items from chilli to jiggery are found.Thus, the ‘Ganjgolai’ has become the main commercial and trade centre of this city.

“Latur Municipal Transport” (LMT) is an intra-city bus service facilitates the people to travel all parts of the city. LMT (Latur Municipal Transport) intra-city buses ply throughout the city including the outskirts and connect different parts of the city and adjoining suburbs together. The LMT bus service is affordable, efficient and safe. The LMT buses are quite crowded during morning and evening rush hours. There are also number of taxis available to commuters to travel to nearby suburbs.
Latur Airport is the main airport here. Besides that latur is also well connected with network of railways.
