Rajkot

Rajkot is the 4th largest city in the state of Gujarat, India. Rajkot is the 28th urban agglomeration in India. Rajkot is ranked 22nd in the world’s fastest growing cities and urban areas from 2006 to 2020. It is located on the banks of the River Aji and Nyari River.

Rajkot is the part of Kathiyawad. It is frequently referred to as “Rangilu Rajkot” meaning colorful Rajkot. Rajkot is famous for being an important industrial centre for the state of Gujarat. It is well known for its abundance of gold and silver, and for its textile expertise.

Garba, a dance is performed during the Navratri festival. Janmastami mela, Diwali, Moharam, Ramzan. Bakrid, Dhuleti and Uttarayan-Makar Sankranti are some important festivals celebrated in Rajkot. Rajkot Municipality arranges the Firecracker Show for the citizens of Rajkot.

Rajkot is amajor regional center for the arts, with many venues for the performing arts in the city. Rajkot has its own native music genre, called Daryo. Rajkot also inherited Kathiyawadi folk music. Cricket is the most famous sport in the city.
