Sankarankovil is a small municipal town located in the Thirunelveli Kattabomman District of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It forms the headquarters of the Sankarankovil taluk. The town is also known as SNKL and Sangai. This place houses several temples. The Sri Nellayappar and Gandhimathi temple that are the biggest temples of Tamil Nadu is present in Sankarankovil. This town is also known for its five famous “Shiva sthalas”. There are several agricultural industries in this town.
