In the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, there is a small panchayat town called Singampuneri. This town belongs to the Sivaganga district and comes under the Thirupathur constituency.
Singampuneri was previously known as Singampidaari. It was believed to have been named after Pidari. This town houses several industries and hence is also known as the industrial town. There is a temple called “Vathiyar Ayya” where pujas are performed on every full moon day exactly at midnight 12:00. During this puja thousands of devotees flock to this temple to pay homage to the gods.
