In the Kanyakumari district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is a small village named Vadaseri. It is situated about 320 km from the capital city Chennai and about 13 km from the Taluk main town Thogaimalai. Vadesari is an agricultural town so the main occupation of the people there is agriculture. Vadaseri is a part of the Nagercoil town which is the 12th largest town in South India. It is the headquarters for municipality and administration. Though this city was a part of the Kerala, it was later included in Tamil Nadu.
PLACES OF WORSHIP:
Nagercoil derives its name from the nagaraja temple which is present in the heart of the town. Hindu pilgrims from different parts of India often visit this temple which has different Hindu shrines. The king of snakes or Nagaraja as they are called locally is the main deity of worship in this temple. Devotees offer milk and pay homage to the Snake god.
Another popular temple is the Suchindram Temple which is the worship of the Hindu Trinity namely Shiva (Sthanu), Vishnu (Perumal or Mal) and Brahma (Aiyan). The principle deity of this temple is Thanumalayan.
Christians can visit St. Francis Xavier’s Church which is located in the Kottar which lies in the vicinity of the town. Established in 1600 AD., it is one of the oldest churches of the region.
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:
Another place worth visiting is the famous Kanyakumari which is only about 10km from Vadaseri. Kanyakumari, which is the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula, is the very confluence of the three water-bodies – the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. It often leaves visitors enthralled by its picturesque beauty. The Western Ghats with its splendid greenery together with some temples scattered across the place makes it a place worth visiting. Kanyakumari though has forest lands, but some part of it is reserved for the rubber and other plantations.
SHOPPING DESTINATION:
The Vadasery handloom weaver Store is often visited by the tourists travelling to this place. One can find handlooms and tapestries of various designs and shapes here. This place often gets flooded with visitors wishing to adorn their houses with the local looms.

Hotel Anand, Hotel blue residency, Arya Bhavan Hotel. Hotel Ashoka, Hotel Ganga Hotel green palace are some of the hotels where one can stay according to ones convenience. These hotels provide good services and are often visited by the tourists’ travelling to Vadaseri.

As the place is well- connected by roads and railways, it is easy to reach the desired destination. One can take different routes to reach Vadaseri. Trains are available on a regular basis which makes it convenient for people wishing to visit the place. Comfortable bus services are provided several times in a day to help tourists. Together with this people can also avail the local cars for sightseeing.
