In the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, there is a panchayat union town by the name of Valliyur or Vallior. It is situated in the Radhapuram taluk of Tirunelveli district and is one of the fastest growing towns of the district. Located along the National Highway 7, it connects the towns Tirunelveli and Nagercoil. Though majority of the people living in this region are farmers and shepherds yet they value education. The Valliyur Kulam and the picturesque Western Ghats adds to the beauty of the town. The oceanic Valliyur Kulam, the wide and appeasing Kuravan Malai (Western Ghats) gives the town a beautiful look and feel.
MURUGAN TEMPLE-MUST VISIT
The Murugan Temple of this region is the favourite destination for Hindu tourists. Sri Subramaniyar is the presiding deity here and contains the shrine of Murugan. The temple has many Mandapam and a holy site that has been niched out of a hill. The beautiful diamond-studded “Vel” in the temple is worth-noticing. Kanyakumari, which lies in close proximity of Valliyur, is a place worth visiting. The exotic beaches, exquisite waterfalls, museums and forts are a pleasure to watch. Keeriparai, with its scenic beauty is a place tourists should visit. The ancient temples of Nanguneri can be visited by devotees.

Valliyur is well connected by roads and railways. One can also travel by air to Valliyur. One can either take the roads via Eruvadi which lies to the south side of Valliyur or can go via Panagudi which is located to the northern region of Valliyur.
