About Kothara


Kothara is a small village in Absada taluka of the Kutch district in Gujarat. Initially, Kothara was just an estate that belonged to the ruler of Kutch-Godjaji. He then gifted the estate to his brethren Haloji and it was Haloji who established the town of Kothara. The village is well known for the Jain Derasar (temple) that was built by Vikram Samvat in 1918. Kothara lies in the hot and dry part of the Kutch district.
