A town in the Junagadh district of Gujarat, Manavadar was formerly a princely state in British India. After independence the state agreed to be part of Pakistan before a plebiscite decreed that Manavadar would remain part of India. The town used to have flourishing industries of cotton, groundnut and ghee but all have since shut down.
