About Ajmer

Ajmer

Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for its shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Ajmer was founded in the late 7th century A.D. by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan of Chauhan dynasty. Ajmer has evolved as a manufacturing and trade centre for cotton, woollen textiles, leather, shoes, hosiery, and pharmaceutical products. Poultry is a major source of livelihood for farmers here. The place is well known for its Mayo College that was founded by the British. Ajmer is well connected through rail and road.

Godhra

Godhra is a small town in the state of Gujarat. It also serves as the administrative headquarters for Panchmahal district. Its name is derived from two different Hindi words ‘gou’ and ‘dhara’. ‘Gou’ means cow and ‘dhara’ carries two meanings – one being ‘land’ or ‘hold’ and other being ‘flow’.

Godhra is famous for its natural hot water springs which have medicinal values. It attracts a number of tourists from all over India. Other must see places are Kanelav Talav, Ram Sagar Talav, Vaishanav temples i.e. two temples of Lord Gokulanathji  and Vaishnav Sampraday (Vaisnal society), and one each for Lord Gusaiji and Lord Mahaprabhuji, Rathanpur, Old Methodist Church, the Jhakurkhan Ara Masjid, and the Bohora Masjid.
