About Ajmer

Ajmer

Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for its shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Ajmer was founded in the late 7th century A.D. by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan of Chauhan dynasty. Ajmer has evolved as a manufacturing and trade centre for cotton, woollen textiles, leather, shoes, hosiery, and pharmaceutical products. Poultry is a major source of livelihood for farmers here. The place is well known for its Mayo College that was founded by the British. Ajmer is well connected through rail and road.

Merta

Merta is a city in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It is a part of the Nagaur district. Once, ruled by the Merita Rathore Rajputs, the city was conquered and merged with Jodhpur under Akbar; while the slain ruler’s sons given charge of 14 principalities.
