Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for its shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Ajmer was founded in the late 7th century A.D. by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan of Chauhan dynasty. Ajmer has evolved as a manufacturing and trade centre for cotton, woollen textiles, leather, shoes, hosiery, and pharmaceutical products. Poultry is a major source of livelihood for farmers here. Nasirabad is cantonment town located in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. It is popular for the delicious Kachori (a fried spiced wonton) preparations. The name Nasirabad was given after Sir David Ochterlony, an English officer who was given an honor with name- Nasir-Ud-Daula.
