Ajmer is one of the major cities in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The city was established as “Ajayameru” by the ruler named Shakambhari Chahamana. The city is located at a distance of 135 km from Jaipur. It is surrounded by the Aravalli Mountains and is the pilgrimage center for the shrine of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. It is the base for visiting Pushkar (11 km) which is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage center and is famous for Brahma temple. It has been selected as one of the heritage cities in India.
