Beed is a city in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a part of the district by the same name. It is speculated that the city was founded by the Yadava rulers of Devagiri who ruled the region from 1173-1317. Later, it became a part of the Hyderabadi Nizams – the Asaf Jahis.
