About Ankola

Ankola

A panchayat town in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, Ankola is a small coastal town. A town, which has many beaches, Ankola is famous for its unique breed of mango, which is called ishaad and is also known for its cashews. Belekeri beach in Ankola town is a natural port rich in iron ore, which is exported to China and Europe. Ankola is surrounded by temple towns and villages on all sides. Yakshagan and Suggi, a form of tribal folk dance has its roots in this town.

Nippani

The largest urban centre in Chikkodi Taluk of Belgaum District, Karnataka, Nippani is an important agricultural and commercial trade centre in the district. The Poona-Bangalore National Highway and Vengurla-Bagalkot State Highway passes through the town. Nipani has a  good number of colleges and schools and is well known in the surrounding region as the best destination for higher education.
