About Ayodhya


Ayodhya is a small temple city in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is believed to be the birthplace of lord Rama, the hero of Ramayana. It was a part of the ancient kingdom of Kosala and is still a sacred city for Hindus all over the world. It is located in the Faizabad district.

Places to Stay

The city is abundant with places of tourist interest, particularly temples following the North Indian style of architecture. Some of the places worth visiting are the Nageshwarnath Temple and the Chakravarti Maharaj Dashrath Mahal.

The nearest airport is the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at a distance of 146 km.

The city is itself has a proper railway station. The close-by major railway station is Lucknow Railway Station at a distance of 137 km.
