Bhadrachalam is an important Hindu pilgrimage town in the Khammam district of the newly formed state of Telangana. It is also situated on the banks of the mighty Godavari river. According to a legend, the area of the town once was a part of the Dandakaranya forest visited by lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana during their exile.

The town by virtue of its tag as a temple town has a lot of places which are worth visiting. Some of the sites which are worth trying are the Parnasala, Dummugudem (both places are of historic importance in Ramayana), Sri Govinda Raja Swamy Temple, Gundala - famous for its hot water springs along the river banks (5 km away from the town).

The nearest airport is the Vijayawada Airport at a distance of 203 km.
The town in itself has a big railway station. However, Vijayawada Junction Railway Station is the nearest major railway station at a distance of 181 km.
