Balaramapuram

Situated in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala is a small town named Balaramapuram. It is known for its production of traditional variety of handloom. It is situated 15 km towards the south east of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. Handloom weaving was first introduced to this place towards the end of the 18th century and it still continues to be the major industry on which its economy is largely dependent.
