Ballia

Ballia is a city in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The eastern part of the city lies at the meeting of the two rivers – Ganges and Ghaghara. The city is often referred to as Baghi Ballia as a remembrance of its significance in the country’s freedom struggle. The legendary Mangal Pandey was also born in the district.

Faizabad is the administrative headquarters of the district by the same name in Uttar Pradesh. The city is situated on the banks of the Ghaghra River and was the old capital of the Awadh region.
