About Belurghat


Belurghat or Balurghat as it is known is located in the Dakshin Dinajpur district of West Bengal, close to the border with Bangladesh. It is known for its rice, jute, and sugarcane plantations and is an important distribution centre. It is known predominantly as a farming area. It is a well known place for the Indo - Pak war of 1971.
