A town in the district of Alappuzha in Kerala,Cherthalais located on the Kochi-Alappuzha National Highway NH 47. A beautiful coastal town, the eastern borders of the town has the serene backwaters of Lake Vembanad. The town has the best white silica sand in Asia, similar to the one found in Hawaii.Cherthala is famous for its hi-tech designer Coir mats. The town is located 30kms south of Kochi and 22kms north of Alappuzha town.
