Colachel

Colachel is a small town in Tamil Nadu. It lies along the west coast of the Kanyakumari district. It flourished as a Dutch colony in the 18th century. The battle of Colachel is important in Indian history as it was the first time that foreign naval forces were defeated by an Indian army.
