About Daman


Daman is a city in the Daman district of the Union Territory Daman and Diu. The river Daman Ganga divides the city into two parts- Nanidaman and Moti Daman. It has a rich and diverse culture and heritage. Daman was once a Portuguese colony for over 400 years, lending Portuguese influence on its culture and architecture. A fusion of tribal and Indian is also visible here. Daman is also famous for its good climate.

Daman has a domestic airport which has daily flights to Baroda and Mumbai. Mumbai (180 km) has the closest international airport.

Vapi Station (12km) is the closest railway station and is on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai line and is very well connected to the rest of the country. It takes 30 minutes to reach Daman from Vapi.
