About Darbhanga


Darbhanga is a small city in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. It is the oldest and a historic city of Bihar. Darhanga’s history goes back to the golden Era of Ramayana and Mahabharat. Few believe that Darbhanga in Bengali means ‘Gateway to Bengal’, Dar or Dwar meaning ‘Gate’ and Bhanga or Banga meaning ‘Bengal’, and other’s believe that Darbhanga means broken gates , Bhanga can also mean ‘broken’ in Bihari.
