About Dudu

Dudu

Doodhu is a small village in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It comes within the Barmer district. The district headquarters, Barmer, lies at a distance of 59 km north of the village. The state capital of Jaipur lies at a distance of 573 km north-east of the village. It lies within the Thar desert region, with the Pakistan border being just 139 km (two and half hours’ drive) away.

There are no places to put up for the night in the village. One has to travel to Barmer (103 km away) for lodging. There are a couple of good budget hotels in the city. The village in itself may not have anything interesting to offer. A ride to the Pakistan border with a prior permission from relevant authorities may prove to be a little exciting. One can also visit the neighbouring hub of Barmer, the largest agglomeration nearby.

Barmer Railway Station is the nearest major railway station at a distance of 56 km.

Being very close to the sensitive international border, it is mostly state transport buses which cater to the needs of passengers in the region. There are places of great natural beauty in the city like Khawaraoji Fort which is surrounded by hills and Jhajhirampura, famous for temples of Shiv, Hanuman and other deities.

Air:
The closest airport to Dausa is located in the state capital of Jaipur, 55 kms away.

Rail:
Dausa is easy to reach on the rail network, since it is on the Agra-Jaipur and Delhi-Jaipur route. Dausa railway station (about 17 kms from city centre) and Bandikui Junction (52 kms from Dausa city centre) are the important stations here.

Bus:
