Doodhu is a small village in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It comes within the Barmer district. The district headquarters, Barmer, lies at a distance of 59 km north of the village. The state capital of Jaipur lies at a distance of 573 km north-east of the village. It lies within the Thar desert region, with the Pakistan border being just 139 km (two and half hours’ drive) away.

There are no places to put up for the night in the village. One has to travel to Barmer (103 km away) for lodging. There are a couple of good budget hotels in the city. The village in itself may not have anything interesting to offer. A ride to the Pakistan border with a prior permission from relevant authorities may prove to be a little exciting. One can also visit the neighbouring hub of Barmer, the largest agglomeration nearby.

Being very close to the sensitive international border, it is mostly state transport buses which cater to the needs of passengers in the region. Buses to the village are available from Barmer. A city located in the Shekhawati region of Sikar District in Rajasthan state, Sikar has many well-known and historic building that attracts tourists. Sikar is now emerging as one of the main education hubs in the state.
