Dwarka is a town at the tip of the westernmost Indian state of Gujarat. It is one of the most important sites of Hindu pilgrimage and was a part of the Dwaraka kingdom, ruled over by lord Krishna. The town is coastal in terms of geography and comes within the Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Kathiawar peninsula. The nearest major urban agglomeration is the city of Jamnagar at a distance of 131 km east of the town.
