About Ganganagar


Ganganagar, also known as Sri Ganganagar, is a town in the northern side of Rajasthan. The place is named after Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner who designed the irrigation structure for the town by channelising River Satluj through canals. The town is called the ‘Bread Basket of Rajasthan’ since the major crops of the region include wheat, jowar and grams. The age old temples and beautiful gurdwaras attract pilgrims to this place. Kalibangan, the archaeological site, is also a tourist spot.

A village in the Churu District of Rajasthan, Salasar is located in the Bikaner Division. It is in the Sujangarh Tehsil at a distance of 80 km from the district headquarters, Churu. This village is famous for its Salasar Balaji or Salasar Dham.
