Gooty

A city in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh, Gooty is situated 52 km from Anantpur. Gooty was known as Gowthampuri in the ancient days under the rule of Ashoka in the 7th Century. Gooty is famous for its fort and temples in the ancient hills of Andhra Pradesh. Gooty also has a number of railway lines passing through it, making it easy for anyone to find transport to other cities in India.
