A city in the Anantpur district of Andhra Pradesh, Gooty is situated 52 km from Anantpur. Gooty was known as Gowthampuri in the ancient days under the rule of Ashoka in the 7th Century. Vasudevanallur is a small town in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The nearest major urban hub, which also happens to be the district headquarters, is Tirunelveli at a distance of 80 km south.
