About Guna

Guna

Guna is a district in Madhya Pradesh located 180 km toward Bhopal. It was a part of the ancient Avanti Kingdom. In the early 18th century, it was conquered by the Marathas and later remained as a part of the Gwalior Kingdom. Located on the banks of River Parbati, Guna is the gateway to Malwa and Chambal. Guna shares border with Rajasthan. The British used to pronounce Guna as Goona or Goonah. The literacy rate was 65% in the year 2011.
