About Gunga

Gunga

Gunga is a small village in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. The village is a part of the Barmer district and lies at a distance of 63 km north of the district headquarters, Barmer. The international border with Pakistan is not too far away either (just 151 km west of Gunga) and is located about three-and-half hours’ drive away.

Being a village, naturally there are no places to put up for the night. One is forced to venture into Barmer for lodging. There are a couple of good budget hotels in the city. As the drive is expected to stretch up to three to four hours, one is advised to carry lots of fluids. A visit to Barmer and exploring the Juna remains on the west as well as the Jain remains on the south is also worth it.
