Hanumangarh

Hanumangarh is a district in Rajasthan which is 390 km from Jaipur. The city is towards northern side of the state and lies on the bank of river Ghaggar. Earlier it was known as Bhatner and the majority of its population was Bhati Rajputs. Bhati Rajputs made up 70% of the population (according to statistics from2001) and the literacy rate was 67%.

Anupgarh

Anupgarh is a small village in the Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. It is located right in an agricultural area. The neighbouring country of Pakistan is only 8 km (16-minute drive) west of the town. The province of Pakistan which borders the area is Punjab. The town was the scene of fierce fighting between the rebelling Bhati Rajputs and Mughals in the middle ages. While in the town you can try the Rajasthani cuisine.

Being a village, naturally there are no places to put up for the night. One is forced to venture into Bikaner (187 km away) for lodging. There are a couple of good budget hotels in the city.
