About Hassan

Hassan

Hassan is a city in the South Indian state of Karnataka. It also happens to be the headquarters of a district by the same name. The city dates back its history to the 11th century, when a local chieftain named Channa Krishnappa Naik founded it. It is believed that the city derives its name from the city’s presiding deity, mother goddess Hassanamba.
