A town in Karnataka’s Devanagere District, Honnali is renowned for its Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt. In Kannada, Honnali implies ‘gold’ and according to the legend during the Vijayanagara era, the streets were full of people selling gold. Kumbashi

Kumbashi is a small village in Karnataka. It is part of the Udupi District and the Kundapur Taluk. It lies on the Udupi-Kundapur Highway. The village is also known as Anegudde. It was named Kumbashi because the demon Kumbhasura is said to have been slain here. Local folklore suggests that it was once the abode of Lord Vinayaka, and hence the name Anegudde (Anne-Elephant, Gudde-Hillock). The place is famous for an old and popular Ganesha Temple.
