About Rudrapur


Rudrapur, a city in Uttarakhand’s Uttam Singh Nagar district, is a popular tourist attraction. Legend has it that King Rudra was trapped in a marshy land while passing through this place on his chariot. He then built a well and the Atariya temple, which lies on the Rudrapur-Haldwani route. A huge 10-day fair held at the temple during Navratri in September-October attracts a large number of devotees to this town. As this town lies in the Himalayan region, the weather is pleasant throughout the year, thus making it a year-round tourist hub.
