Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur is a city in the East Singhbum District in Jharkhand. It is also known as Tata Nagar. It got its name in the year 1919 and before that it was known as ‘Sakchi’. It is popularly known as ‘The Steel City of India’. In the year 1908, India’s first Steel and Iron factory was established by Jamshedji Tata at Sakchi and later on the city was named Jamshedpur after Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata.

Bihar Sharif is the district headquarters of Nalanda district in Bihar. It is placed at Hiranya Prabhat Parvat and along the bank of River Panchanan, 75 km from Patna. Bihar Sharif, then called Bihar, was the headquarters of the Magadha kingdom in the medieval period. Later, the headquarters was shifted to Patna and the whole of Magadha region was named Bihar.
