About Jhalawar


Jhalawar is the administrative headquarters of the Jhalawar district in the state of Rajasthan. It was founded by Jhala Zalim Singh and is named after him. Jhalawar was developed as a military cantonment and has a rich historical heritage. It is also well known for its thick forests, exotic flora and fauna, and lush green fields. Rich avian life dominates this area. There are also many animal and bird sanctuaries in and around this area.

Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for its shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Ajmer was founded in the late 7th century A.D. by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan of Chauhan dynasty.
