A town and a municipality in Wayanad district of Kerala, Kalpetta lies on the Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway (NH 212). Surrounded by dense coffee plantations and mountains the town is located at an altitude of about 780 m above sea level. Kalpetta is connected to Kozhikode and Mysore by NH212; while State Highways connect the town with Ooty in Tamilnadu and Madikeri in Karnataka.
