Kapu

Kapu a small town in the Udupi district of Karnataka is a coastal town that consists of four villages. 13kms south of Udupi, Kaup, which is pronounced as Kapu, is famous for its lighthouse and the three Goddess Durga temples and a fort built by Tippu Sultan. The town lies between Udupi and Mangalore on National Highway 66. Scenic on the shores of the Arabian Sea, many films have been shot at Kapu. The sunrise and sunset in the backdrop of light house at Kapu is one of the main attractions of the place.

Events/festivals
The Kaup Beach Ustava attracts a lot of tourists for its sand art. The annual 'Ati Mari Puje’ festival at the historically famous temple of Goddess Mariyamma is usually thronged by thousands of devotees all over the state and even neighbouring states.

Language
The language predominantly spoken in this town is Kannada.

Other than the lighthouse and the Tipu Sultan fort the temples around the area includes Anegudde, Anegudde Vinayaka Temple and the Lord Kotilingeshwara Temple, which is loacetd about 1-2kms from the bus stand. Neighbouring town Udupi has a lot more tourist places of interest.

About Bidar

Bidar

Dubbed as the "Crown City of Karnataka", Bidar got its name from the word, Bidiru which means bamboo. Bidar is famous for its fort by the same name, which is inspired by Persian architecture. Besides the fort, this ancient city is also home to several other historical monuments and architecture dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Some of the major attractions it boasts of are Solah Khamba Mosque, Gagan Mahal, Rangin Mahal and Zenana Palace.
