Khajuraho is a town in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. It is located 40 km from Chhatarpur and about 270 km from Jabalpur. Khajuraho is one of the most visited destinations in India. This town has the highest number of medieval temples. The name Khajuraho (Kharjuravāhaka) originates from two Sanskrit terms ‘Kharjura’, meaning date palm, and ‘Vahaka’, meaning one who carries. This ancient town has been declared as UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, and is among the seven wonders of India.
