About Khurja

Khurja

Khurja is a city based in Bulandshahar district of the state of Uttar Pradesh, and is 85 Km away from Delhi. Khurja is said to have derived its name from the Urdu word ‘Kharija’ which means to condemn. This is mainly due to more swamps than arable land available here. The city is now famous for ceramics, earning the moniker Ceramic city of India. Khurchan is a local delicacy worth tasting here.

Khurja has two railway stations: Khurja Junction and Khurja City Station. The Khurja Junction connects the city to other major destinations, while the city station caters to local routes only.

Delhi airport, at 75km, is the closest one to Bulandshahr.

Rail:
