A hilly, forested village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, Konni is situated on the banks of the mighty Achencoil River. Konni is slowly emerging as a popular tourist destination, since the vast expanse of forests of the Western Ghats crisscrossed by numerous streams and rivulets gives it a picturesque setting. The lush green village has been prominent as a haven of wild elephants and as an elephant training centre.

The places of interest include the Konni Elephant Training Centre, Achankovil River, the two ancient temples Achankovil and Aluvamkudi, Konny St George Orthodox Church and the Kumbhavuruthy waterfalls. All these places are located at a distance of 1-2kms from the bus stand.

The nearest airport is the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (about 99kms) and the Cochin International Airport (124kms).
The railway stations close to Konni are at Chengannur (34kms), Thiruvalla (41kms) and Kottayam (60kms).
Both the state run KSRTC and Private Luxury Bus are available to Konni. Private bus operators like Kallada Travels G4 are popular here. If you get cheap bus tickets online you can save a lot of money while travelling.
