Koothanallur is a city in the Thiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu. The river Vennar flows through the heart of the town and so the soil here is very fertile. Koothanallur lies between the Mannargudi and Tiruvarur routes. It lies in eastern Tamil Nadu and is a centre for Islamic education.
