A town and a mandal headquarters in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, Kothapeta or Kottapeta is an agricultural town. The agricultural marketing committee in this town is quite prominent, since the majority of the population depends on agriculture. The‘SomavaramSantha’ (weekly market) is held every Monday. There are many temples in this town.
