The city of Kotkapura (or Kot Kapura) is located in the Farikot district of Punjab. It has a rich history and it is said that the city got its name from one of its rulers, the Nawab Kapura Singh. ‘Kot’ means ‘fort’ and ‘Kot Kapura’ means the ‘Fort of Kapura.’ The city is also known as the ‘City of White Gold’ because of its large cotton market.
