Krishnankoil, also known as Krishnan Kovil, is a small village in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It comes under the Virudhunagar district, with the district headquarters located at a distance of 35 km east. The major urban hub of the region, Madurai, is located at a distance of 72 km north-east. The Periyar Tiger Reserve across the border in Kerala is not too far away either and is located at a distance of 56 km west.
