Krishnankoil

Krishnankoil, also known as Krishnan Kovil, is a small village in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It comes under the Virudhunagar district, with the district headquarters located at a distance of 35 km east. The major urban hub of the region, Madurai, is located at a distance of 72 km north-east. The Periyar Tiger Reserve across the border in Kerala is not too far away either and is located at a distance of 56 km west.

Being a small place, the village does not have a great variety when it comes to places of lodging. However Madurai has a couple of good budget hotels. Tuticorin is also popularly known as Thoothukudi. The word Thoothukudi derives its meaning from two Tamil words –Thootu (dig) and Kudi (drink). The region is most famous for Pearls and it is traditionally known for pearl fishing and ship industries. This place has a huge port and it is popular for it as Tuticorin is considered to be one of the oldest seaports in the world. The place is relatively warm and pleasant from January to March and is enjoyable to visit during these months.

Air:
