Kurnool a city that is part of the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh lies on the banks of the Tungabhadra River and is the seventh most populated city in the state. A big town in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, Kadirihouses the ‘ThimmammaMarrimaanu’, the world's biggest banyan tree that is spread over 11 acres of land.The town is well-known in the state for the Lord Lakshmi NarasimhaSwamy Temple that is located here. A large number of pilgrims visit this temple throughout the year. Kadiriis also known for the cultivation of jasmine flowers, vermilionand silk.
