Kurugodu, a town in Southern Karnataka’s Bellary district is famous for its Sri Dodda Basaveshwara Temple. Devotees from far and wide visit this temple yearly during Poornima. Some of the surrounding cities around Kurugodu are Bellary, Gadag, Guntakal, Adoni and Raichur. State Highway 132 runs through this town.
